Town & Gown Tidbit: Kent Heritage Festival
Join us Saturday, July 5 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. for the Kent Heritage Festival. This year鈥檚 festival will include live music and entertainment on two stages, a children鈥檚 play and activities area, local food trucks, the classic car show and fireworks at dark. The Kent Jaycees will host their Ducks River Race event and, of course, the festival will include downtown Kent restaurants and small businesses, the Haymaker Farmers鈥 Market, DORA and more!
Volunteers needed: Move-in golf cart drivers
Help us roll out the red carpet for our newest community members! We鈥檙e looking for friendly volunteers to drive golf carts during the Kent Campus First-Year Student Move-In on August 13 and 14. You'll be transporting students and their families from long-term parking to the residence halls鈥攁 simple but impactful way to offer a warm welcome to campus. Shifts are available from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sign up for as many as you'd like. Golf cart certification is required (easy instructions are included).
Porthouse Theatre offer faculty and staff BOGO for July 4

Sponsored by University Advising, the Advisor Impact Award is a quarterly recognition given to one outstanding academic advisor who has made a significant positive impact on the lives and academic success of their students. Don鈥檛 miss the Kent Blossom Art Intensive Lecture Series
Attend a free lecture series June 6-12 as part of the School of Art鈥檚 Annual Kent Blossom Art Intensives(KBAI) Program. Every year, visiting artists give public presentations on their work. All artist lectures are free and open to the public. Lectures are hosted by world-renowned guest artists in ceramics, painting, textiles and glass.
