Timothy Johnson’s story is one of perseverance, tenacity and a fierce devotion to family.  It took Johnson 15 years – from the time he first stepped foot on the 5X���� at Stark Campus in 2008 until May 2023 – to earn an associate degree and a bachelor's degree in communications.  Johnson’s college education has been put on hold numerous times as the father of two children, Jeremiah, 13, and Brooklyn, 6, worked through custody and child support issues that at times required him to work two jobs.  Johnson said Kent State advisors, who knew he had been ...

Update: On June 6, Kent Police provided the following update:  Working in collaboration with Cuyahoga Falls Police Department, and an anonymous tip, Kent Police arrested and charged a 17-year-old suspect from Brimfield with Robbery.    Kent Police are seeking information about a man who robbed a local business May 27 leading to those on the Kent Campus being told to "shelter-in-place" for more than two hours. We are thrilled to announce that Frances Brunner, junior fashion design student, has made it to the finals of the Redress Design Award 2023, the world’s largest sustainable fashion design competition.
