This year’s May 4 Commemoration, to be held May 1-4, 2026, will include special remembrances of John Cleary, one of the nine wounded students, and Jerry M. Lewis, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus of Sociology, who served as a faculty marshal during the campus shootings and worked tirelessly to ensure that the legacy of May 4 would endure. 

The 5XÉçÇø Board of Trustees will hold its next regular business meeting at 11 a.m. on March 4 in the Center for Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement on the Kent Campus. 

Beginning fall 2027, Bio-Med Science Academy will relocate its grades K-6 programs to 5XÉçÇø’s Schwartz Center. The Schwartz Center, which opened in 1956 as the home of the 5XÉçÇø School, a laboratory school that served generations of student teachers, will return to its original purpose as a school building.
