What is KSU Kickoff?

KSU Kickoff is a four-day welcome to your new home and introduction to your Kent State family. You will engage in activities to familiarize yourself with the 5X社区 community, make new friends, aid in academic success, and meet different faculty and staff from around campus.

Where can I find help?

Call or email the Center for Student Involvement at 330-672-2480 or csi@kent.edu, respectively. Additionally, if you see an individual in a KSU Kickoff Staff shirt, they can answer your questions too!

What events are required?

Go to the schedule on this app and look for events that say 鈥淩equired鈥 in the information about each event.

Will offices be open during KSU Kickoff?

Yes. Most offices will be open during normal business hours: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. The Center for Student Involvement suite is located in 120 Kent Student Center.

Are there events specifically for my college?

Yes, check out the schedule in the app for all events for your college. 

 

Can transfer students participate in KSU Kickoff?

Absolutely! All transfer students are encouraged to attend both general and transfer student-specific KSU Kickoff events.  

  • The two required KSU Kickoff events for transfer students are the Transfer Student Welcome and Blastoff, both on Sun., Aug. 17. Check out the KSU Kickoff App for more details.
  • Transfer students enrolled in Flashes 101 are invited to participate in their first class meeting on Fri., Aug. 15. (Check the KSU Kickoff event schedule for time and location later in the summer).

How can I connect with the Center for Student Involvement?

You can connect with the Center for Student Involvement by calling 330-672-2480 or emailing csi@kent.edu. The CSI office, located in Suite 120 of the Kent Student Center is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. You can also follow CSI on Instagram @CSIKent.

Are new students required to participate in KSU Kickoff?

KSU Kickoff has many required events for new first-year students. This includes students living on campus or commuting. New transfer students are strongly encouraged to attend KSU Kickoff events as well.  

The KSU Kickoff app will release content relevant to the welcome week experience, including a full schedule of events. Events that are mandatory are marked as required. You will have an opportunity to create a personalized schedule in the KSU Kickoff app. 

As a commuter, am I required to participate in KSU Kickoff?

Commuter, off-campus and remote learning students are required to participate in KSU Kickoff.

How do I find out if an event is cancelled or changes locations due to weather, etc.?

Make sure to turn on notifications for the KSU Kickoff app. We will make announcements via the app should any events be altered. This app can be found in the app store of your mobile device by searching 鈥楰SU Kickoff.鈥

Where can I find the location of the KSU Kickoff events?

All locations are posted under each event in the KSU Kickoff app and website. You can .
