After receiving a student’s thoughtful letter of concern about a specific quote and portrait of Golda Meir’s in Bowman Hall, President Beverly Warren and Provost Todd Diacon went to view the portrait and quote in their current context and setting. Afterward, both responded with personal letters to the student thanking him for sharing his concerns and bringing this to their attention. While upsetting to some, Meir’s quote is nonsectarian and could be read by many as inspirational. During International Education Week, the College of Architecture and Environmental Design (CAED) will showcase the creative projects of seniors Zach Barber, Ben Brannan and several others who studied abroad in Florence during the past spring semester in a special weeklong exhibit. The exhibit is located in the second floor gallery of the new CAED building and a special gallery opening will be held Monday night beginning at 5:30 pm.
