Employee Wellness announces Happiness Challenge

Employee Wellness is pleased to announce the first challenge of 2024: the Happiness Challenge. It is one thing to know what it feels like to be happy, but it is key to understand its valuable impact on health and how to achieve. Learn about the many health benefits of happiness and different ways to channel it, including engaging in regular physical activity. This challenge is open to full-time, benefits-eligible employees, and is worth 20 Wellness Points.

Representatives from several local healthcare facilities participated in a recent career fair on the Salem Campus, meeting with radiology students and nursing students set to graduate soon. The Kent State seal features a soaring chimney swift, yet few people are aware of the bird’s importance to the local ecosystem and the threat humans pose to its survival. “Humans have actually destroyed their habitat,” said Caitlyn Skilton, a senior zoology major. “They're going to become extinct eventually if we keep destroying their habitats.” Skilton, who has a photojournalism minor, wanted to help others gain an appreciation for the chimney swift and its role in the environment.
